Understanding your Portfolio

What Portfolio reads, what it computes, and why it lags your wallet.

What Portfolio shows

Portfolio is an analytics view over positions an address owns. It is built from indexed chain events, not from a balance call, which is why it can say more than your wallet can and why it can be behind it.

You can look up any public address. Connecting a wallet simply fills the address in for you; it grants SquirtFi no additional access.

Wallet holdings against indexed analytics

Your wallet

Knows what you hold right now. Knows nothing about what you paid, what you collected, or what gas cost you.

Portfolio

Knows the whole history of a position: every deposit, withdrawal, fee collection and transaction cost, each valued at the block it happened in.

Why it lags

A confirmed transaction and an updated Portfolio are two different events. After a receipt lands, the indexer still has to reach that block and fold the events in. Portfolio reports itself as catching up until its source block has passed your receipt block.

Position lifecycle

A position appears when its mint is indexed, updates on every increase, decrease and collect, and remains in history after a full exit so the lifetime result stays visible. Burning the NFT removes the position from the chain but not the record of what it did.
