Managing your position
Increase, decrease, collect, exit, burn — and how they differ.
The operations
| Operation | What it does |
|---|---|
| Increase liquidity | Adds more of both tokens to the existing range. |
| Decrease liquidity | Converts some or all of the position back into token amounts owed to you. It does not move them to your wallet. |
| Collect | Sends owed amounts — accrued fees, and any principal freed by a decrease — to your address. |
| Burn | Destroys the empty position NFT. Only possible once liquidity and owed amounts are both zero. |
Decreasing is not withdrawing
This is the distinction that catches people out. Decreasing liquidity does not put tokens in your wallet. It moves them into the position’s owed balance. Collecting is what actually transfers them.
A full exit is therefore an ordered sequence: decrease everything, confirm the collect, re-read the position to check it is empty, and only then burn. SquirtFi refuses the burn until both liquidity and stored owed amounts read zero on-chain.
The position NFT
Your position is represented by an NFT minted by Uniswap’s canonical non-fungible position manager. It is a Uniswap v3 position. It is not a SquirtFi collectible, it is not issued by SquirtFi, and it has no value beyond the liquidity and fees it represents.
Whoever holds that NFT controls the position. Transferring it transfers the liquidity. It also breaks SquirtFi’s ability to compute lifetime PnL, because the deposit history before the transfer belongs to someone else. PnL limitations and refusal states
