Fees and costs
Every cost involved, and one that has not been decided yet.
What you pay
| Cost | Who receives it | When |
|---|---|---|
| Pool trading fee | Liquidity providers in that pool | On every swap through the pool. As an LP you earn this rather than pay it. |
| Network gas | The chain | On every transaction, including approvals and reverted transactions. |
| Swap fee on a Zap | Liquidity providers in the pool you swap through | On the swapped portion of a Protected Zap entry. |
| Price impact | Nobody — it is value lost to the trade | On the swapped portion, and larger in thin pools. |
| Uniswap protocol fee | Uniswap governance, where enabled | Set per pool by the protocol, not by SquirtFi. |

Estimating a round trip
A full manual position costs gas at least four times: two approvals, a mint, and a collect on exit, plus a decrease and possibly a burn. A zap replaces the two approvals and the mint with one approval and one transaction, and adds the entry swap cost instead. Neither is free, and on a small position the fixed costs dominate.
